School Board
The Dell Rapids School Board is comprised of five members elected each year for overlapping terms. Each member serves a term for three years. As the governing body of the Dell Rapids School System, the primary role of the board is the legislation of school system policies that are executed by the superintendent and staff!
The school board meets on the second Monday of every month. They also meet on the fourth Monday from September through November and January through June. All meetings start at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Middle School/High School Distance Learning Room. Agendas are available in the central office on the afternoon of the Friday before the scheduled meeting and online.
If there is an agenda item of interest to you or if you wish to address an item not on the agenda, call the superintendent at 428-5473 by the Friday before the meeting. Speaking time may be limited to three minutes.

Tom was elected to the board in 2011. Tom and his Wife, Lori, have three children: Jacob - a 12th grader; Lindsey - a 9th grader; and Tyler - class of 2010. Tom works for Regency Hotel Management and serves on the Facilities and Budget committees.
Cindy started on the Board in July of 2007. Cindy and her husband David have lived in the district since 1993 with their children Jeffery - a 7th grader, Danielle - class of 2010, and Alicia - class of 2008. Cindy works for Sanford/USD Medical Center. She serves on the Facilities and Wellness/Insurance committees.
Troy has served on the school board since 2008. Troy and his wife Robin have lived in the district since 2002 with their children Noah - a 5th grader, and Luke - a 3rd grader. Troy is a farmer. He serves on the Budget, Negotiations, and Transportation committees.
Matt began his first term July 2010 and has grown up in Dell Rapids. Matt and his wife Sonya have three children in school: Bergen - a 6th grader, Andrew - a 4th grader, and Lane - a Kindergartner. Matt is a dairy farmer. Matt serves on the Negotiations and Transportation committees and is a delegate to the Prairie Lakes Educational Cooperative.
Steve was elected to the Board in 2012. He has lived in the District since 1998. He has 3 children, Clay is out of school, Mikaela in 9th grade and Sydney is a 7th grader. Steve works as the CEO of the Air Guard Federal Credit Union in Sioux Falls.
